Another Day at the doctor

Well we spent another day at Primary Childrens Hospital with Kennedy today. This time we went to see the plastic surgeon about her "flat head"! I never thought that my 6 month old would see a plastic surgeon before me! Well he did say that she would benefit from a helmet and that we could probably wait about a month but that would be perfect because it may take that long to convince our insurance that see needs it and she wasn't just one of those babies that didn't change positions enough. The doctor also said that if our insurance doesn't pay, it costs about 1800.00 for the helmet...yikes. She will have to wear it for 23 hours a day for 2 months and then at night for another month...three months of more crap on poor Kennedy. I feel so bad for the girl but I don't want her to be mad at me later in life if she has a funky shaped head...what do I do???

Logan loves this Halloween wig that was in the box of fall decorations. She thinks is is pretty fun to wear.




Not much else new with us. Kurt is about 3 weeks into his new job and it seems to be getting better and better. You know how it is starting a new job, new people, new stuff to learn and of course the long drive. Which is why our house if up for sale if anyone knows of anyone in the market!!!

Just a fun day at the park!

Like I said, my sister Lacey and her girls were in town last week and we didn't do a lot but one thing we did drag all the kids to was the castle park. Of course the best part of the park for the big gals was the swings. Logan had school this day so we didn't get to play very long, but the girls had fun at the castle park!
This section of the park was baby central. We took turns manning the babies, who by the way were so good. I think they enjoyed a little bit of the outdoors!

6 month check ups

Well just a quick update on the girls now that they are officially 6 months old. The twins went to their 6 month well check on Monday and Karsyn weighs 8 lbs 11 oz and Kennedy is 6 lbs 6 oz! They are both growing pretty good but the doctor said he expected them to take off by now and since they are not, he is going to start Karsyn on Neosure (extra calorie formula) throughout the day also. I was just going to give her an extra ounce or two hear and there so that I could still nurse her every time but I can't keep track of eating schedules very well that way so I may end up just nursing one and bottling the other every time switching each time. Anyway, we didn't check Kennedy's oxygen this time but when they go back in for their second flu shot in one month, we will check then. The poor girls were pricked to death this time between normal immunizations, flu shots, and they also both had to get PKU tests done for the state since they had so many transfusions while they were in the hospital they had to have them done 3 months after their last one now that their bodies have replaced the blood that was transfused with their own. The doctor also suggested that we take Kennedy to Primary Childrens and have her see a plastic surgeon about the back of her head being kinda flat. Her head got pretty flat while she was flat on her back in the hospital while she was sick and it still really hasn't rounded out much. That is all I want right now is to put a plastic helmet on the poor girl who already has oxygen and an apnea monitor, but I also don't want her head to be flat the rest of her life. Has anyone ever done the helmet thing??? I have heard that most insurance companies don't pay for them either because they are just cosmetic and that they are pretty expensive. Well either way we have an appointment on Tuesday Sept. 30th with a doctor down there to at least see what he says. Lets see, other than that not much new with us. My sister Lacey and her girls are in town this week and Logan is having so much fun playing with them, even though we haven't done a whole lot! Logan is also still loving preschool and comes home everyday with such fun stuff and stories!

Nothing new with us!

Just some random pictures of the girls. I know I have been slacking on the blogging, but really we haven't had anything major going on lately. Logan is still loving preschool, and I am liking the extra time I get to spend with the girls. Karsyn and Kennedy are still doing pretty good, they don't go in for their next appointment until Sept 22, by the way that will be their 6 month check...crazy! I had to post the cross-eyed picture of Kennedy because I thought it was so funny. And the funny picture of the girls in their Bumbos just sitting there staring at each other. They don't do this for long before they get bored of it, but it is funny to see them watch each other.

Robison History!!!

OK, it is official, the Robison's can produce boys! Hailey and Clay gave birth to their little boy late last night (at 11:39pm)at Mckay Dee Hospital. He weighed 6lbs 14oz and was 19.5 inches long!! He is just the cutest little guy ever, and I was lucky enough to witness him coming into the world. Hailey and Clay were so nice to invite me to watch the delivery! I was in the room when my mom had my little sister Cassidy but I don't remember anything so it was really cool to see what happens since I have had my kids C-section. When I got there Hailey was dilated to a 5 after about 5 hours of being started on the PIT. We just sat and talked for a while and then about 11:00pm she started to feel a lot of pain with each contraction. The pain came on so fast and so she called her nurse, who just got on shift, and told her she was in a lot of pain and that last time she was checked she was a 7. She decided to check her and she was complete and ready to go...no wonder she was in so much pain. They just couldn't believe how fast she went from 7-10. So the nurse called the anesthesiologist to have him give Hailey a little more epidural because at this point she was really in a lot of pain. I was beginning to wonder whether I should be there or not because I hate to see anyone in pain, especially a sister! Anyway she was made a little more comfortable and her doctor came right away. She pushed for 9 minutes and...out he came (with a little help from the vacuum)! He was such a good baby, barely crying at all when he came out, but most important is that he is a sweet healthy little boy! Good Job Hailey, you did so good!

 

 

 

Oh PS, I didn't mention what the kid's name is because well, he doesn't have one yet!

New Chairs for the girls

Thank you Aunt Brooke and Uncle Scott for the cool new chairs! If you don't know these are two of those cool "Bumbo" seats that the girls can sit up by themselves in. We really didn't think they would be able to hold themselves up in them but they both do so good! These will come in handy once we start the feedings I think! Thanks again guys, the girls, including Logan, love them!





Just a little update too on the girls. Kennedy had a doctor appointment this morning to see how her oxygen was doing. Kurt stayed home with Logan and Karsyn because he has the rest of the week off until he starts his new job at Wadsworth construction on Monday. So just Kennedy and I went to the doctor. She weighed 5lbs 14oz so that is good, but her oxygen had to be turned up a little again because he thinks she is still needing a little help when she eats and stuff. She was SATing fine when she was just laying there but we tried feeding her and let her cry a little and she went down into the high 80's. It looks like the poor girl has a lot of damage to her lungs and may need the oxygen for a little bit longer. We will go back for both the girls 6 month check up in the middle of this month and we will probably check again and also check and see how Karsyn's weight is! Well that is it for our life, other than Hailey is at the hospital right now getting started on having her baby boy ( I can't call him anything because he still has no name)! Logan's First Day of Preschool!

The day finally came...Logan started preschool yesterday! She has been waiting so long for this day, even though I don't know if she really knew what was coming. She would see the kids walking to school all the time and say that some day when she was big she wanted to go to school. When we told her that she would be going "soon" that was in like January and it has been very hard to hold her off since then.

Each day this month she has a certain color that the kids wear because that is the color they will be talking about. As you can see the color for the first day of school was red. Logan looks really cute in red but she really doesn't have a whole lot of red clothes so...this was the outfit for the first day of school!

When we got there her teacher, Miss Megan, had these little name tags set up on each of the tables. She had the kids see if they could find their names and we told Logan hers was on the "blue" table and she soon found it. She then had them start by using a dry erase marker to trase their names. She can't really write her name at all but she recognizes it because of the "L" I guess!

This was after the first day was over and all the kids came running out. I was sitting in my car across the street waiting and so this was as close as I got of her coming out! And below is once I got up to her and gave her a big hug, I think she was excited to see someone she knew. Her teacher is Kurt's Highschool "friend" Megan Fowler, now Williams, and she has a bunch of her neighbor kids and some other in the class and so Logan really doesn't know any of the other kids yet. I hope that she will get to know some new friends since she, like most kids, can be pretty shy.

I know this is funny but I wanted to show off Logan's first little assignment she had in school and how good at coloring she is. She wouldn’t pose for much of a picture so I had to take a picture of the picture! I know that I have showed off Logan's artsy stuff before but look how good she is at staying in the lines, I am always so impressed and look forward to seen her improve over the next year.
