Yesterday was a fun and busy day for us all...mostly Kurt though! We headed up on Friday night, just Logan, Kurt and I, to Logan and spent the night there for Kurt to run in the Top of Utah Marathon on Saturday morning! We got up there and went swimming for a little while after eating at the Olive Garden...
carbs,
carbs,
carbs! Then we all went to bed, while Kurt had to wake up at 4:00AM to catch the shuttle that came to the hotel, Logan and I slept in until around 9:00AM and then headed down to the finish line!!! Here is Logan with the sign "she" made for her daddy!!!

They were supposed to send us a text when he passed the 13
th mile and then again when he passed the 20
th mile and when nothing ever was sent to my phone, I started to think the worst. Kurt had been a few weeks behind the training schedule when he decided to run the marathon and then about 6 weeks ago on one of his "long" runs, he hurt his knee, making is so he was unable to run much for the next 6 weeks up until the run. When I didn't get the texts, I just started to think that maybe he wasn't able to finish because of his knee, but we got ready and headed to the finish line to wait!

He also estimated that he would be done around 11:00AM if all went well, making it in around 4 hours. Again, when that 4 hour mark came and went, I started to worry that he wasn't able to do it. BUT NO...at 4 hours and 23 minutes, there he came, running towards the finish line. Unlike some of the other people I saw finishing, he looked GREAT! He looked like he had just got done running a mile or so, still looking like he was "hovering", as I say!!! Logan was being such a dork and wouldn't hold her sign up for him and wouldn't go out and finish with him, so we saw him here and then ran down to the actual finish line to find him in all the crowds of people!!

He said that the race was such a good experience and that he felt great up until about mile 20, when, of all things, his back started to tighten up so bad it was hard for him to catch his breath. He said from about mile 20 to 24 or so he had to run and walk off and on trying to stretch his back muscles out enough to keep going. Then for the last 2 miles or so, he just set his mind on the finish line, and ran the rest of the way!!! He still says he is disappointed that he didn't make it in 4 hours, but I still think he is 100% amazing with all he went through to get there!!! Great job Honey!

You can barely see him crossing at this point because I was dragging Logan behind me trying to take a picture over all these people! You can also see his time was 4 hours 23 minutes, but when it came in on the official clock it was 4 hours 22 minutes 38 seconds!!!

Me and Logan waiting waiting waiting for Kurt! She was being so shy and weird, but afterwards was really excited to see her daddy!

See, still smiling...what is wrong with this guy???

Here he is holding Logan, I am pretty sure my arms would not have held a 35 lb kid after that!

I am so dang proud of Kurt, if I haven't mentioned it before, he is such an amazing person and this is just one more thing on his list of accomplishments! After the drive home, he came home and laid down for about and hour or two because he had a
migraine but then he was up and ready to head to the lake with all of our friends from our old neighborhood!!!

Here is Logan on the tube with her friends Peyton and
Bailee!

They had so much fun and thought they were going so fast!

Logan and her little friend Peyton that she misses so much!

Now here she is with Peyton and her little bro Gavin...he was so brave! Oh and don't you love Logan's
life jacket that looked more like a neck brace!

We didn't get any picture of me and Val with Kurt on the tube because there was only kids on the boat at that point. But I had to go back out to see the guys on the tube. Thanks girls for watching my kids at the beach so that I could go on another ride!!

Here is Kurt and the guys trying to hold on. I never got any really good pictures when they fell off because it just happens too fast, but believe me, they took some good falls going really fast!

Kurt just fell off

...and then the other two followed! EMPTY TUBE!!

They picked up Kurt first, who was across the lake, and he rode this way until they got to the other guys to pick them up! Crazy kid!
We had such a fun, busy day but that is just the way we love it! I can't believe that Kurt was able to hold onto the tube for longer than a second, time and time again, after running the marathon, and then still going out to wake board too! I married a crazy crazy man and I love him for it! To finish off the night, Kurt and I came home and put the girls to bed and went to the best place ever...El Matador! It is just as yummy at 10:00 at night!
